The Basket or Gondola
The basket is usually made of woven rattan wicker with a plywood floor and leather trim. These traditional materials are light, strong, flexible and aesthetically pleasing. As an added bonus these materials are non-conductive. The most popular sized baskets carry 2-10 passengers. The weight lifted depends on the size of the Envelope. The basket usually carries 2-6 ten gallon Fuel tanks. The baskets we fly have interior passenger handholds and fuel tanks that are tucked into the corners for safety. The rigid burner supports also provide a handhold and combine to provide a secure feeling inside the basket.
